RAM Mounts USA runs one of the world's most comprehensive mounting-hardware catalogues — hundreds of SKUs spanning phones, tablets, cameras, GPS units, radios and the full taxonomy of vehicles, vessels and aircraft they fit into. The catalogue updates constantly as new devices and new vehicle models come to market.
The international franchisees — MaxTech in South Africa, plus the Netherlands and France operators — faced a familiar problem at industrial scale: keep three local-language storefronts in lockstep with the US master catalogue, while serving local currencies, local payment methods, local SEO and local language. Off-the-shelf eCommerce platforms either don't handle that depth of localisation or charge multi-store fees that don't scale with the product count. Manual sync was a non-starter.
The brief was an engineering one as much as a design one: build a single bespoke catalogue engine that ingests from RAM USA at the source, localises every product per market, and pushes to three independent storefronts — each with its own design, brand register and country-specific commerce stack.
We built the system on Nova-Web — which gave us the freedom to engineer the ingest pipeline exactly to RAM USA's data shape, rather than fighting an off-the-shelf platform's assumptions.
A single product-feed integration pulls catalogue data from RAM Mounts USA, translates and localises each product into the three target languages (Dutch for rammounts.nl, French for rammount.fr, English-South African for rammount.co.za), and writes to three independent storefronts. Each store carries its own design, brand voice and country-specific commerce stack — local currency (EUR for NL and FR, ZAR for SA), local payment gateways, local shipping rules, local SEO and schema. The taxonomy a buyer browses by — phone, vehicle, motorcycle, marine, aircraft, forklift, kayak, wheelchair — is the same depth they get on the US site, just localised.
For the ZA storefront, we designed and built the full retail experience for MaxTech (RAM Mounts South Africa) — B-BBEE Level 2 certified, lifetime-warranty messaging, store locator and the kind of rugged industrial register the brand earns at the source.
NL: rammounts.nl — Dutch storefront with EUR commerce. FR: rammount.fr — French storefront with EUR commerce. ZA: rammount.co.za — English storefront with ZAR commerce and the MaxTech retail experience.
The results
Three local-language storefronts that stay automatically in lockstep with the parent catalogue, with zero manual sync. New SKUs and product-data updates flow from RAM USA into all three sites in the locales their customers actually read in — no franchisee has to babysit a spreadsheet to keep the catalogue current.
Each country gets a storefront that feels native to its market: Dutch for the Netherlands operator, French for France, English-SA for MaxTech in Port Elizabeth. Local currency, local payments, local SEO. Operators in each region get to focus on selling to local customers instead of fighting catalogue maintenance — which is the actual point of running an international franchise programme.
Client-specific revenue and conversion figures stay between us and the operators — South African privacy convention — but the structural outcome is on display at all three live URLs.
